As stated at the end, if neither Portman or Williams takes best actress, I'll be threatening black and blues myself.Loren Rosson IIIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15002312216839280976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-294916540840535575.post-35154863606276559012011-02-04T16:40:26.172-08:002011-02-04T16:40:26.172-08:00The superficial character similarities, I suppose,...The superficial character similarities, I suppose, but my own expectations were light years away from a Nicholas Sparks story. I guess it put me in mind of saying something like, "I went into Let the Right One In expecting to be suffocated by a Swedish version of Twilight".

Anyway, I was very impressed with the film, and wish it could be made mandatory viewing for certain couples on Valentine's Day. :)Loren Rosson IIIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15002312216839280976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-294916540840535575.post-69454998000193935212011-02-04T15:20:17.528-08:002011-02-04T15:20:17.528-08:00Plus, the idea of Gosling coming from a battered f...Plus, the idea of Gosling coming from a battered family history and a lower-class background and seeking a more affluent woman is shared across both films.Carson Lundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10164962777812861110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-294916540840535575.post-29429678983085463682011-02-04T09:58:04.357-08:002011-02-04T09:58:04.357-08:00C'mon, Ryan Gosling, a pretty blonde, an idyll...C'mon, Ryan Gosling, a pretty blonde, an idyllic relationship? It seemed an adequate first comparison. I hope it made it clear enough though that upon watching the film I realize it's much, much better than The Notebook.Carson Lundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10164962777812861110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-294916540840535575.post-92032788206215743352011-02-04T05:47:48.224-08:002011-02-04T05:47:48.224-08:00One of the best films of the new year. Even based on the trailer alone I would have never made the comparison.Loren Rosson IIIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15002312216839280976noreply@blogger.com
